While staying in Ireland during the summer of 2013, Long’s Dance Director, Lee Ann Long, continued her Master Instructor level training. Lee Ann studied with Master Instructors Mick O’Reilly and Mary Beth Taylor. Mick is the 10-time All-Ireland World Champ, and Mary Beth Taylor has her own school in Dublin- Scoil Rince Taylor- and is known for her classes and performances at the Cobblestone Pub.

Long’s now offers Irish Dance Classes at its Main Location (826 Selinger Ave.) and 4 of our others (East, Mill Village, Fairview, and Union City. The first lesson held was on Saturday, October 5, 2013 to a completely full class. We are accepting ongoing enrollments for classes at this time. Begin registration today!

Long’s is pleased to announce that Mick O’Reilly has joined our faculty and will be instructing periodic Master Classes at the school. The first workshops were held in November of 2013. Since, our school has been accepted for membership by the World Irish Dance Association (WIDA) and is now the training facility for WIDA in North America. Long’s students will be competing in future WIDA sanctioned competitions. We also host the Annual Lake Erie Feis.

About the World Irish Dance Association
The main purpose of WIDA is to promote Irish dancing around the world, while striving to ensure the best possible experience for each individual on their level of involvement in Irish dance. This is encouraged through an open and friendly culture, which is always present at WIDA events, despite the competitive nature of modern Irish dance.

WIDA has developed a global presence and currently includes over 140 schools in 21 countries – and has over 50 feiseanna per year. Competitions, examinations and workshops are organized to promote Irish dance worldwide and to bring Irish dance into the hearts and feet of dance enthusiasts. Annual exam sessions and dancer grade exams are run in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Siberia and the US creating a universally recognized teachers qualification program.
