Here are some of the most commonly-asked questions from prospective students and their parents:

Q: How young is too young to start dance class?

A: It’s never too early to foster a love of dance! Our academy offers classes for tiny dancers as young as 3 years of age! Check out our Tiny Tots class, which is an overview of tap, pre-ballet and acrobatic limbering skills, or our preschool Irish dance class, which teaches simplified Irish dance basics.

Q: Are there such things as adult beginner classes?

A: Of course there are! We offer a variety of adult classes at different skill levels, so there’s something for everyone, regardless of whether it’s your first dance class ever, or whether you’ve been dancing since you were a kid! Our adult classes are normally held at our Selinger Avenue and Bird Drive locations only.

Q: I’m enrolling my child in dance classes for the first time- what can I expect?

A: Our classes are an hour long and limited in size, so you can be sure your child will receive the individual instruction he/ she needs to grow as a dancer. Your child will receive a class syllabus and be graded on practice and mastery of various dance techniques appropriate for his/her skill level. Most of all, expect her to have a lot of fun, engage in healthy exercise and develop a lifelong love of dance!

Q: What should I wear for my first dance class?

A: Dance attire (leotard, tights/leggings, etc.) is strongly encouraged, as it allows movement and flexibility. Students should wear footwear that is appropriate for the style of dance (ballet slippers, tap shoes, jazz shoes, Irish dance poms (soft shoes), etc.) Street shoes and sneakers are not permitted. Visit our dance supply shop for competitively priced dance attire and footwear.

Q: How often should I attend class?

A: We strongly encourage students to train at least twice per week in order to achieve maximum progress. Check our dance schedule and calendar to find out which class times and locations best fit your schedule.
